Wiegand 1st, Geary 2nd at WCSC

This was the 11th Annual Western Canadian Scrabble Championship, and featured 135 players across all three events. Players came from 5 provinces and 13 states. And the club was very proud of the fact that all entry fees were returned in the prize fund. All the overhead of running the tournament, including the dinner on Saturday night, were paid for by dues from the club members throughout the year. The WCSC is the largest money tournament (almost $11,000 CDN) after the USSO.
Here is a recap of the prize winners in the two early birds and the main tournament. Others won prizes as well, ie for "Tough Luck", "Highest # of Bingos", etc, but unfortunately we don't have that list here.
