Terri Morigeau won Div 2 of the Calgary Marathon - a unique
tournament of 12 games in one day. The win propelled her
to a new all-time high rating of 1158. We won't be seeing
much more of her in Div 2 I'm sure! Sylvia King was also gibsonized and won 2nd place while Dorothy Klovan won third.
In the top division Juraj Pivovarov beat Siri Tillekeratne in the final round to win 1st, Siri 2nd and Paul Sidorsky third. We were grateful to Maureen Clifford, Betsy Chai and Betty Bergeron for playing up in Div 1 to keep the numbers
more balanced.
Also of note, Timothy Anderson, from Edmonton, ran into vehicle trouble on his way down Friday. He was up all night but still managed 4 wins and seemed in decent spirits despite the sleeplessness. Emil Rem showed up as the spare
and he played in the first two rounds while Timothy sorted out his car troubles. Kudos!
