5 point challenge rule will be played for all games **** Please email Maureen Morris to register as Betty is providing the venue however I will host the tournament. There will be the no Shusshing rule and no whining either.
5 point challenge rule is as follows. The opponent is free to challenge a play however if the word is acceptable the person who played it will get a 5 point bonus for every word challenged. And the challenger does NOT lose their turn if the word is good. If the word is unacceptable the play comes off the board and the player loses their turn just as normally would happen.
Note: In the event that a tournament is cancelled, it may be preferrable to change the name from 'Winter Tournament' to 'Winter Tournament - cancelled' and post some info as to why an event is cancelled. If an event is deleted instead, people may assume it is still happening but it is just not listed on the website. So please be sure you really want to delete this tournament. You cannot recover it later.
Also, please do not delete past tournaments. It is very useful for players and future organizers to do planning based on previous years' schedules. Tournament entries should never be deleted just because a tournament has happened. They should only be deleted if an erroneous touranent was posted that never should have been posted in the first place.
