Getting There: 1. Driving: from the intersection of Heritage Drive & Macleod Trail, either go: south to 8th Ave, left (east) to Bonaventure Drive, & left (north) again - the Sierras area on your left, or 2. LRT: Heritage Station is about a 15-20 min walk from the Sierras, situated just west and south of Heritage and Macleod. Accomodations The Carriage House is about a 10-minute walk, situated at 9030 Macleod Tr S. For current rates, call 1-403-253-1101 Tournament Players must arrive by 8:30 to facilitate pairings, help set up and keep us on schedule Players are expected to provide all necessary game equipment (board, tiles, clock, racks, scoresheets, pens, etc) Local players who show up without equipment will be surcharged $10, and players who find themselves paired without equipment will both be given 50-point forfeit losses if they are unable to secure equipment in time to play their game. All players except those playing in their first sanctioned tournament must be current members of the National Scrabble Assocation. Note: In the event that a tournament is cancelled, it may be preferrable to change the name from 'Winter Tournament' to 'Winter Tournament - cancelled' and post some info as to why an event is cancelled. If an event is deleted instead, people may assume it is still happening but it is just not listed on the website. So please be sure you really want to delete this tournament. You cannot recover it later.
Also, please do not delete past tournaments. It is very useful for players and future organizers to do planning based on previous years' schedules. Tournament entries should never be deleted just because a tournament has happened. They should only be deleted if an erroneous touranent was posted that never should have been posted in the first place.
