Ratings & Club Results

The ratings have been updated for the August mini-tournament.

Now some good news: The Club Results Archive will soon become official! The other directors have agreed that we should use the categories found on the web site as the source of the awards at our Annual Dinner. We have not yet decided on exactly which categories will be used, but likely most of them will along with some other categories derived from the data in the results archive (such as Most Improved Player). (This also means of course that there will be a greater number of awards!) More details will be announced later.

Anyhow, the upshot about this is I now have a really good incentive for bringing the results up to date! Right now I've only done thru November 2000, so I haven't even got to this season yet! I'll be doing my best to be caught up by the end of the year. Funny, because it only takes me about an hour to do a month's worth of results, but it's very tedious so I tire of it quickly. Hopefully with this new incentive I can finally get it done.

A final note - I'm back at the University again so general updates and site revisions will slow somewhat. However, unlike last year, I will still be attending our club's regular Thursday sessions so I shouldn't lose touch with current club happenings. With a bit of luck I should be able to keep the site from stagnating as badly as it has in the past.
