2002 WCC Expanded
Posted by Paul S on Sat November 10, 2001 at 0h00Due to the huge success of the 2001 WCC, we are expanding in 2002! The Western Canadian Championship will now consist of three tournaments. Our main tournament and Early Bird will remain unchanged, but we are also adding an additional one-day eight-round tournament on the Wednesday!
This brings the total number of games at the WCC to 37. That's more than the Nationals, and in fact any other event except Reno! Because of this we're already expecting record attendance for next year! Full details will be posted early next year, and the printed brochure will also be distributed soon.
On a sad note, the CalSask Team Tournament was cancelled this year. Some of the key Saskatchewan organizers moved recently and that made getting a team together unfeasible for them this year. We'll try again for next year. We're also looking to setup some other team tournaments with nearby clubs!
