NewsTournament NewsPosted by Paul S on Tue June 04, 2002 at 0h00Okay, a bunch of updates have been made! I apologize for being AWOL once
again. I was on the waiting list for a summer course and they emailed me three
days before it started to tell me I was in, so I had to scramble, and since
then I've been trying to catch up. Yeah yeah, I know you've heard this kind of
excuse from me many tiimes before, so on to the news.
The Summer Tournament
results are up from the tournament this past weekend. It was a very successful
event with 47 players, a third of which were from out of town!
The Western Canadian Championship
Flyer for 2002 is now online. This will be our biggest and best event
ever because we've added an extra early-bird tourmament! On Wednesday,
October 2nd we'll have an 8-round tournament. Following that will be the usual
schedule of a 12-round event on Thursday and Friday (the 3rd and 4th) and then
the main event, 17 rounds, on Friday the 4th to Sunday the 6th.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: THE MINI-TOURNAMENT SCHEDULED FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE
HAS BEEN CANCELLED. The G8 summit is taking place in nearby Kananaskis and
all hotels and conference centres have been booked for months in advance. We
were trying to find an alternative venue but it didn't work out.
The ratings have been updated from
the April mini.
Lastly, I'm still working on the Out of Town Results section and hope to
have an update made soon, but as always this section is low priority.
