8th Annual Western Canadian Championship

The 8th Annual Western Canadian Championship has concluded. We set another record with 117 players in the main tournament!

Congratulations to Ira Cohen from California for winning the main event, not to mention the two Early Birds. He was virtually unstoppable. Meanwhile, Nancy Hanley won a tough division 2. Division 3 was won by club newcomer Jesse Matthews, playing in his first tournament! We started him in division 3 based on his club performance. He's only been at the club for a few weeks, although he has played online for some time. Also, congratulations to Bruce Mottle for winning division 4. Bruce has only been competing for a year or so.

We look forward to doing it all again next year, this time in a new location! The hotel we have been holding our events at is closing and being torn down. We'll let you know all of the details about the new location as soon as they are finalized.
