WCSC Results, as posted on CGP

Western Canadian Scrabble Championship


After two and a half days of Early Birds, 114 Scrabble enthusiasts took part in
the Grand Finale, the 12th Annual Western Canadian Championship in Calgary,
Alberta. We maintained our unique tradition of returning 100% of the entry fees
as cash prizes, thanks to the fundraising efforts of our members, and
particularly a very generous donation by longtime club veteran Ross Stevenson to
cover all expenses. Over 80 attended the Chinese buffet hosted by the club on
Saturday night.

Last year's Div. 1 winner Dave Weigand repeated his success with a round to
spare, and had to be Gibsonized. He volunteered to skip the last round so as not
to create an odd no. in Div. 1 caused by another player's family emergerncy.
