Maureen Clifford wins big
Posted by Juraj on Sun January 30, 2011 at 18h06We had a great winter tournament with 12 players in the top division and 14 in the second. Despite the bad weather there were no cancellations.
Congratulations to Maureen Clifford for winning her first tournament, with an impressive 12.5/14. Way to go Maureen! She did win the bingo ace award (incl ATTACKED 101) with 15 bingos, and I told her that was more than some players in Div 1. Linda had a great performance as well, finishing second with 11 and next Terri with 10. Sylvia had nine 'wins' to edge out Ben and Laverne but oddly enough it was actually 8 wins and two ties. Laverne played well above expectation, and won the performance prize.
I won in Div 1, with two tough games against Jeff in the last rounds, which we split. Meanwhile Eric beat Shannon in the last round, and edged out Jeff on spread, taking 2nd. Jeff 3rd and Shannon got 4th. Huguette turned in a great performance and won the prize for moving up the most spots.
