NewsCanadian Wins WorldsPosted by Paul S on Fri November 12, 1999 at 0h00We at Club #374 would like to congratulate Canadian Joel
Wapnick for winning the 1999 World Scrabble® Championship. He
defeated England's Mark Nyman three games to one in the best of five
final after placing 1st in regular play. Canadian team members also
placed 3rd and 4th, doing us proud!
We would also like to congratulate our own Albert Hahn who
did well in a very strong field. Albert went an even 12-12, -48, to
place 53rd of 98 players. This is a very respectable result and we are
all proud of Albert for representing Western Canada so well.
