Results from 20th Annual Winter Tournament
Posted by Juraj P on Sun January 29, 2006 at 20h16The 20th Annual Winter Tournament just finished today at the Coast Plaza Hotel in Marlborough. Once again, there was a superb job done organizing event, thanks to Siri, Betty and Randall and everyone else that helped. The testament to this was the large number of out-of-town players that attended the event (roughly 1/3 of the participants) - from Portland, Vancouver, Edmonton, Saskatoon, as well as others I've probably missed.
Stay posted on this website for our next event, the Spring Tournament, Mar 25th and 26th here in Calgary. Also, please note there will be two upcoming events in Edmonton (Spring in the Park Apr 22 and 23) and Vancouver (March 4th and 5th 2006).
I don't have a list of the cateogry winners for the various prizes such as Low Loss, High Win, Highest scoring play, Higest scoring non-bingo, or Comeback kid, but the bingo-ace awards went to Allan Simon and Randall Thomas (24) in Division 1, Yvonne Lewanski (20) in Division 2, and Trevor Gurnsey (19) in Division 3.
Jeff Fleetham won the tournament with a score of 11/14, beating Randall Thomas on the spread. In Division 2, Wendy McGrath scored 10/14 (despite losing her first 3 games!) and beat Betty Bergeron only on the spread. Finally, in clear 1st in Division 3, by two full games, was Terri Morigeau, who had the highest total in the entire tournament with 12/14. Great job to the winners, and all participants.
This tournament was submitted on Sunday Jan 29th, 2006 to the NSA to ensure it will be rated in a timely fashion.
